Reading the age limit in a job ad

Your age is counted on the date the ad names, usually the closing date. The ad prints a band (for example 21 to 30) and then any general relaxation. PPSC prints it as “21 to 30 + 05 = 35 years” for men and “+ 08 = 38” for women. Use the exact clause in the ad: relaxations differ by province and by post.

Which date counts

  • BPSC Advertisement 09/2026: age is calculated on the closing date.
  • SPSC CCE-2026: age is counted on 11 November 2026, the extended closing date.
  • If an ad names a different date, that date wins.

How the ads print relaxation

  • PPSC: the band plus 5 years for men and 8 years for women, written as a sum. Federal, semi-government, autonomous and local-body employees get no age concession for that service (PPSC Advertisement 11/2026, note 3).
  • SPSC CCE-2026: 21 to 33. The original ad allowed 35 for Sindh-domiciled federal or Sindh government servants with four years’ continuous regular service.
  • BPSC 09/2026: 18 to 28, a general relaxation for fresh candidates, and up to 50 for government servants with two years’ regular service, with “no further relaxation” beyond that.

Work out your age

Every post page on Asami has an age check: enter your date of birth and it shows your age on the closing date next to the band printed in the ad. It runs in your browser and saves nothing. It does not decide eligibility; the commission does.
