How do I apply for an FPSC job online, step by step?

Before you start

• Read the advertised conditions of the post: qualification, age, gender, domicile and experience. FPSC’s form lists only the genders, religions and domiciles the post allows; if yours is not in the list, you are not eligible.
• Read FPSC’s “General Instructions to Candidates” on its website.
• If you are a government servant, get your DPC/NOC first. Its number and issue date are mandatory for in-service applicants.
• Keep a recent passport-size photo ready in JPG, under 30 KB.

Step 1: basic details and PSID

1. 1Open fpsc.gov.pk and click “Apply Online”, then “General Recruitment”, then “Apply Online”.
2. 2Choose the post and read its requirements. Click “Apply for this job” only if you meet all of them.
3. 3Enter your CNIC and wait for the “You can apply for this job” message. One CNIC can apply only once per post.
4. 4Fill in name, domicile, gender, religion, test and interview centre, and the result declaration date of the degree that makes you eligible.
5. 5Click “Generate PSID & Challan”.

Pay the fee

Pay against your 16-digit PSID through a 1Link channel: an ATM (Bill Payment, then “1Link 1Bill Invoice/Voucher”), a mobile or internet banking app, or over the counter at a 1Link member bank. Each case gets its own PSID, and a PSID stays valid until the closing date.

FPSC does not accept the old TR-6 challan, cheques, bank drafts or pay orders. The fee is not refundable.

Step 2: complete and submit

1. 1Go back to “Apply Online”, choose the same post and enter your CNIC. The system confirms the payment.
2. 2Check the step 1 details, click “Proceed to Step-2” and upload your photo.
3. 3Add CNIC issue date, father’s name, date of birth, any age relaxation, address, contact details, education and experience.
4. 4Tick the undertaking and click “Submit Your Application”. Keep the tracking ID and print the application.

Mistakes that cost applications

• Paying the fee and stopping there. Payment alone does not submit an application.
• Waiting for the last day. FPSC asks candidates to apply right after the ad appears.
• Wrong or unprovable entries. Everything you enter must be proved with documents later.
• Editing more than once. After submission you can edit only once, before the closing date.
