Ads split the posts: “open merit” posts are open to everyone eligible, while reserved posts (women, minorities, special persons or persons with disabilities) are filled from those groups. BPSC also splits posts by zone (Kalat, Zhob, Nasirabad, Mekran, Quetta, Sibi, Quetta city) under Balochistan’s 1991 recruitment policy, so your domicile decides which posts you compete for.
Example: PPSC
Senior Registrar Medicine (34-RD/2026): 53 posts, of which open merit 41, special persons 1, minorities 3 and women 8. The PPSC site has a page of notified quotas.
Example: BPSC zones
Sub-Engineer, Local Government (BPSC 09/2026): 32 posts, merit 5, Kalat 5, Zhob 4, Nasirabad 4, Mekran 4, Quetta zone 3, Sibi 2, Quetta city 2, and 1 each for disability, women and minorities. Submit the local or domicile certificate of your own district; a married woman not in government service may use her husband’s, as the ad explains.
